Werder Bremen produced a sensational second-half comeback to beat Augsburg 3-2 in a thrilling Matchday 4 encounter at the Weserstadion. Augsburg twice took the lead, but Bremen fought back in front of a fired-up home crowd before Mitchell Weiser completed the turnaround with a spectacular 93rd-minute winner. From the opening minutes, the tactical picture was clear. Augsburg were happy to allow Bremen to control possession, instead relying on a compact defensive block and quick transitions. That approach paid off in the 18th minute.

Augsburg won the ball deep in their own half on the left flank before captain Fabian Rieder immediately looked forward. His long through ball found Robin Fellhauer, who had plenty of space to run into. The forward was too quick for Friedl and Pieper and calmly finished to put the visitors ahead.

Bremen continued to create the better chances, with the home crowd pushing their team forward. Despite their pressure, however, Daniel Thioune's side could not find an equaliser before the break.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Bremen controlling much of the play while Augsburg remained dangerous on the counter. Once again, though, it was the visitors who struck first.
