The Blues host the Londoners on Sunday 1 February as the Barclays Women’s Super League top two lock horns in Manchester.

City enter the heavyweight bout nine points clear of Sonia Bompastor’s side at the division’s summit with all roads pointing towards an exciting clash at the Etihad.

And Jeglertz believes his players should relish playing on the high-pressured the stage our performances and results have built ahead of Sunday’s game.

“What I expect [from the players], they expect from each other. First of all, being fortunate to play these kind of games for these players, also” he explained.

“Also being in the situation which we have created being top of the league, nine points ahead it has to be enjoyment from the players to step out on the field on Sunday.

“It definitely has to be the first thing. We’ll do everything we can to win the game.

“We lost to Chelsea one a half weeks ago and the first game in the league so there has to be a part of a revenge feeling that now it’s time to get those three points.

“Those are the key things for us.”

City enter the final nine WSL matches of 2025/26 chasing a first top-flight title since 2016 and a second across our illustrious history so far.

Although the direction of the championship won’t be decided on Sunday, three points will further boost Jeglertz’s squad before the business end of the campaign comes into view.

But the Swede has reaffirmed the Blues’ principles of avoiding distractions by taking the schedule one game at a time in the build-up to the meeting with Chelsea on Sunday.

Jeglertz added: “For me and many of the players it hasn’t always been in this situation before.

“For us, what we speak about is more like we’re taking this game now and we’ve been good in that all the time [taking one game at a time].

“Not thinking what has happened in history, what is the background, what is going to happen next.

“If you start doing that too much it can affect the players. We’ve done a great season in many perspectives and we have a great confidence in what we’ve been doing so it’s a good opportunity to play them.”
