“We’ll wait for the coach..”: Rodrigues drops cryptic hint ahead of Saudi’s clash with Morocco
Saudi Arabia assistant coach Francois Rodrigues has underlined Morocco’s attacking strength ahead of the decisive Arab Cup group match between two nation scheduled for Monday 17:00 GMT.
Speaking during Sunday’s press conference, Rodrigues stressed the importance of planning & patience before confirming the final squad selection.
“We have enough time to make our technical decisions and choose the lineup. We don’t want to make mistakes. We will face Morocco, a very strong attacking team. We'll wait for the coach to arrive and present him with our observations.”
Saudi Arabia top their group with six point having defeated Comoros and Oman in their first two match. Morocco sit second on four point meaning the meeting could decide group leadership.
Rodriguez added:
“We will play the match with full strength to achieve our objectives. We have players who want to prove themselves. They approach every match with seriousness.”
Head coach Herve Renard had temporarily left the squad to attend the 2026 FIFA World Cup draw in the United States. He is expected to rejoin the team on Sunday afternoon and will lead the final pre match session.
