SV Werder Bremen and OneFootball have agreed to a comprehensive partnership. The Green-Whites and the world’s leading digital football platform signed a global content partnership this month, in order to provide football fans around the world with original Werder content.
Selected editorial items from the club’s official website WERDER.DE such as news articles, interviews and video content will now be shared to fans around the globe via the OneFootball platform. The Green-Whites will therefore be able to expand their digital reach, gaining access to more than 200,000 dedicated Werder fans on the OneFootball app alone. The club will also be able to benefit from OneFootball’s global presence and share content to key target markets such as Canada and Vietnam in the future.
News updates will appear on the club’s official website, WERDER.DE, as well as in the news feeds of OneFootball users. Articles will be marked as official club content and will appear in chronological order in a designated ‘official tab.’ Breaking news items can be sent instantly to all app users via push notifications, to segmented user groups or exclusively to users that follow Werder Bremen. This unique feature not only allows Werder to connect with fans in real time via the Werder app and existing social media channels, but also ensures that targeted news articles are visible at the touch of a button.
Additionally, WERDER.TV will be able to share professionally produced, original video content via the OneFootball Player. A network of over 200 premium publishers from around the world, including Gazetto dello Sport, the Independent or Sports Illustrated, will be able to use this content to supplement their editorial content. Videos could include press conference footage, archive material, behind-the-scenes footage and various other SV Werder video formats. A third pillar of the partnership is an expansion of the digital advertising opportunities available, which will be made available to Werder’s partners in order to allow them to share targeted advertisements to segmented groups.
SV Werder Bremen are the latest club to join a network of over 130 club, leagues and associations in sharing original content via OneFootball. Klaus Filbry, CEO of SV Werder Bremen, commented “Providing all fans with easy access to Werder news and being able to share content with our key target markets were major factors in our decision to partner with OneFootball. We are convinced that this will help us to get more football fans interested in our content and are looking forward to the partnership now getting underway.”
