Amos Pieper has undergone knee surgery.
According to BuLi News, the 28-year-old centre-back sustained a deep flesh wound to his right knee during Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen.

Coach Horst Steffen said the defender had complained of increasing pain, and further examinations found an infection, which made the operation necessary.
He added there was no structural damage and that the club hope he will be fit again as soon as possible. He will be out for several weeks.
Pieper has made 12 appearances for Werder this season.
