Bayer Leverkusen sent two defenders out on loan on deadline day, with Arthur joining Werder Bremen and Jeanuël Belocian moving to Racing Santander. It came as the club also completed Moussa Diaby's return.
Arthur remains in the Bundesliga and is set to replace Yukinari Sugawara at Bremen. According to BuLi News, both moves are dry loans, with the pair due back at Leverkusen next summer.
The Brazilian right-back, a one-time international, has battled serious injuries and made only 44 Bundesliga appearances in three years for Die Werkself. He is 23 and under contract until 2031.
Bremen chief Peter Niemeyer said Arthur can help immediately, noting his Bundesliga experience and proven quality at the highest level, and added the club are delighted he chose them.
Head coach Daniel Thioune, 52, expects him to settle quickly, be an instant option across the back line, and believes his pace and technique can also support Bremen's attacking play.
Arthur said he knows Werder and the Weserstadion atmosphere and is looking forward to meeting his new team-mates and playing there. He was part of Leverkusen's double-winning squad in his first season.
Belocian will spend the 2026/27 season with newly promoted LaLiga side Racing Santander, and managing director Simon Rolfes said he will be a promising candidate for Leverkusen when he returns next year.
