Werder Bremen have reached an agreement to sign Kenny Quetant, according to Sky Germany.

Yet to sign a professional contract with Le Havre, the 19-year-old is available on a free transfer and is set to become Bremen’s first signing of the summer.

Per Florian Plettenberg, Quetant’s medical is planned for Thursday, where he will then sign a four-year contract until 2030 with an option to extend by a further year.

Interestingly, Bremen wasn’t the first option for Quetant. Le Parisien reported that Freiburg had been favourites to sign the young forward, who has scored one goal in nine Ligue 1 appearances for Le Havre this season, while Lille had also shown an interest in the Frenchman.

What’s more, Quetant hasn’t been a member of Le Havre’s first team squad since the end of March, due to the player’s lack of commitment to the club.
