Werder Bremen are sweating on the fitness of Karl Hein and Cedric Itten for the Bundesliga restart at Borussia Dortmund on Friday, nine October.

Hein was unavailable for Estonia’s Nations League match against Luxembourg, which ended in a 1-0 win. The club said in a post that the 24-year-old had muscular problems.

Similar issues had already sidelined him at the start of the season, a concern for Daniel Thioune. It remains to be seen whether Bremen’s number one will be ready for the trip.

Itten missed Switzerland’s 2-1 victory over Slovenia after a knock to his foot. He had sat out their final training session and was left out, despite Murat Yakin initially giving the all-clear.

With a week of recovery, there is a slight chance Itten could feature in Dortmund. For now, both players are doubtful, while Felix Agu is also a worry after hobbling off in a friendly with FC Twente.
