Werder Bremen will be without Karim Coulibaly for Sunday’s Bundesliga trip to FC St. Pauli after he sustained a thigh injury.
According to BuLi News, coach Daniel Thioune must make at least one change from the 0-3 defeat to Bayern Munich, though he indicated there would not be many alterations.
Thioune called Coulibaly’s absence a shame, said the player is doing okay overall and declined to predict a return date, adding that people would have to wait to see how he compensates.
He could deploy Junior Malatini alongside Niklas Stark and Marco Friedl in central defence, or switch to a four-man backline.
Werder are also without Maximilian Wöber with muscular issues, Amos Pieper after a minor procedure, Wesley Adeh with a ligament tear, Mitchell Weiser with an ACL tear and Victor Boniface following knee surgery.
