This afternoon, Everton host Manchester United at Goodison Park for the final time.

Indeed, the two iconic English sides will also lock horns for the first game since David Moyes’ return to Merseyside, which has seen him enjoy a stellar beginning to his second stint as Blues boss; of the six matches he’s managed, he’s overseen four wins and a draw.

Everton’s only defeat in that time came at the hands of Aston Villa in his maiden outing back in the dugout with a narrow 1-0 scoreline, meaning they head into today’s early kick-off boasting an unbeaten record (in the Premier League) since January 19.

A victory on their home turf could give the Toffees a four-point advantage over the in-disarray United, who may even end matchweek 26 in 16th place if West Ham overturn Arsenal in the 3pm fixtures.

In his pre-United press conference (as cited by Liverpool World), Moyes provided some insight into the options he’s expecting to have at his disposal when welcoming his former club for the early kick-off.

“[Youssef] Chermiti has started back on the grass. He’s had two days on the grass, but the length of time he’s been out [means] we’re a bit worried about [him]. He’s done quite a bit of training, not football training yet, but we have got him in and around the training group,” said Moyes.

“Nathan Patterson has come out on the grass the last few days, but we think it will be just too soon for him.”

Meanwhile, long-serving skipper Seamus Coleman remains sidelined with a calf injury and has yet to feature since Boxing Day, so he’ll be chomping at the bit to get out on the Goodison turf as many times as physically possible before the culmination of the term.

Speaking on the Irishman’s return, Moyes added: “We would absolutely hope so (to see him play again this campaign) because I would like that for many reasons. We always have to do the right thing and play the players who will get us the best results. But Seamus needs to get himself back fit.

“He’s a huge member of the dressing room, a huge member of the team, he leads the team brilliantly well. From a distance, he looks as if he’s helped carry the club over a couple of years. He was a great spokesman for the team and club and still is. He is really important to me. We brought him here for £60,000 – we probably paid a bit too much for him! But apart from that, we’re really glad to have him.”
