Roma’s training camp in Wales couldn’t have started worse.

In addition to the heavy 4-1 defeat of the Giallorossi by Cardiff, Gasperini’s men have also suffered two injuries: Wesley and Muhammed Bah, a young midfielder brought in from the Primavera.

First came Wesley’s injury, forced to miss yesterday’s training session due to a sprained right ankle sustained during the friendly two days earlier.

The Brazilian full-back doesn’t appear to be particularly worried at the moment.

The problem is being monitored by the medical staff, but according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, it appears to be a minor annoyance that will need to be managed over the next few days without any emergency situations. The goal will be to gradually recover, avoiding risks and evaluating the ankle’s response day by day.

Most attention, however, is focused on Muhammed Bah, who was the unwilling protagonist in the most delicate incident of the friendly against Cardiff. The player was forced to leave the field on a stretcher and in tears after suffering a severe sprain to his right knee.

The defender is scheduled for an MRI scan to determine his recovery time.

The main concern is possible ligament involvement, a possibility Roma naturally hopes to avoid. Bah has already faced a similar problem in the past: about two years ago, he suffered a serious ligament injury, although on that occasion it was the opposite knee that was affected.
