According to ExpressAndStar.com, Albion are closing in on the signing of right-back Brayann Pereira from NEC Nijmegen, with the 23-year-old due to undergo a medical.
He is in line to become their first deadline day addition at The Hawthorns, while James Morrison would also like to bring in a striker before the 11pm cut-off.
Pereira came through Lens and also played for Auxerre. A former France youth international, he has made 58 appearances in the Dutch top flight since joining NEC two years ago.
He will provide cover and competition for another of the Baggies’ summer signings, Nolan Galves.
Morrison kept his cards close to his chest on other targets on Tuesday, stressing the club are working hard and remain hopeful of further business.
He said his main focus is preparing the team for Wednesday’s Championship visit of Charlton, and that recruitment this window has pleased him even as Albion operate differently to bigger clubs in the division.
