West Brom duo Callum Styles and Jimmy-Jay Morgan have withdrawn from international duty to manage minor injuries, remaining at the club’s Walsall training base.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, full-back Styles was due to join Hungary for four Nations League matches starting Friday and running into October. Striker Morgan, the club’s five-goal top scorer, had been selected for England under-20s by Darren Moore for Elite League fixtures.

Both will remain at the club during this extended three-week window, having been among 10 senior Albion players initially set to travel. It is understood there is no concern over the undisclosed knocks before the visit of Birmingham City at The Hawthorns on October 10.

The club are confident the pause will give the pair time to recover as head coach James Morrison assesses his squad. Players not on national duty were given the first week off to spend time with families before returning next week.

Right-back Brayann Pereira has also opted to stay rather than take up a debut call with Congo, having declared for the African nation. He is expected to be needed on the right, with Styles having filled in there.

Still away with their countries are Max O’Leary, Jayson Molumby, Isaac Price, Chris Mepham, George Campbell, Ousmane Diakite, Barney Stewart and Tammer Bany.
