Lewis Dobbin still wants a chance at Aston Villa, even as his Preston loan outshines a tough West Brom stint. According to ExpressAndStar.com, the winger remains without a competitive Villa appearance nearly two years after a £10m move from Everton.

The 23-year-old joined Albion on loan from Villa in summer 2024, the same window he arrived at Villa Park from Everton. He featured 18 times for West Brom, starting only two, before being recalled.

He then headed to Norwich, where a bright opening was cut short by injury. Last summer he joined Preston on loan and has thrived, scoring eight in 34 across all competitions as North End briefly threatened a play-off push.

Despite two years left on his Villa deal, Dobbin has acknowledged he is unsure about his next step.

He says he is taking it game by game and focusing on performance. His long-term aim remains to play for Villa, and he hopes that opportunity arrives, but he would back himself to secure a good move elsewhere if it does not.
