BBC Sport reports West Brom are ‘progressing talks’ with Chelsea over a permanent deal for Jimmy-Jay Morgan, as Albion have sealed a £1.3 million signing of Barney Stewart from Falkirk.
Morgan, 20, is out of contract next year and is expected to depart for a nominal fee, with a substantial sell-on clause included. He hit 12 and made three assists in 34 League One games for Peterborough last season.
Stewart, 22, has signed a four-year deal at The Hawthorns after making his professional debut last year. He scored 19 in his first full senior season, including 10 in the Scottish Premiership following a recall from a loan at Dunfermline.
Walsall have unveiled striker Andrew Dallas as the first recruit of head coach Lee Grant’s tenure. The 26-year-old has agreed a two-year contract and will join once his Barnsley deal ends on one July. He netted 17 on loan at Southend United last term.
Aston Villa have reportedly entered the race for Lille forward Mathias Fernandez-Pardo, who is at the World Cup with Belgium. Sacha Tavolieri reports club scouts are in the United States to assess several players, including the 21-year-old. He registered eight goals and seven assists in 41 outings for Lille last season, and came on late in Belgium’s 1-1 draw with Egypt on Monday.
Coventry City are said to be keen on former Wolves loanee Angel Gomes. TEAMTALK claims the Sky Blues, Hull City and other established Premier League sides are monitoring his situation.
