Following their established transfer strategy of sourcing talent from overseas markets, West Brom should consider these two additional signings

West Bromwich Albion are finalising a deal to sign CF Montreal centre-back George Campbell, with the USA international set to become Ryan Mason's third summer signing at The Hawthorns.

The 24-year-old American defender, who has earned one cap for his country, is expected to cost around £1m from the MLS outfit.

Campbell's imminent arrival could trigger significant positional changes within West Brom's setup. The defender's signing would likely see Torbjørn Heggem moved back to his preferred left-back position to let Nat Phillips and Campbell form a back two - which then potentially reduces Callum Styles' or Frabotta's role in the team.

Following their established transfer strategy of sourcing talent from overseas markets, West Brom should consider these two additional signings to address the remaining squad needs highlighted by Birmingham Mail - which includes a winger if one of their current options leaves.

Abdoulie Manneh - Mjällby AIF

With Birmingham Mail reporting that West Brom require "another wide option, especially if any existing options were to depart" - Abdoulie Manneh from Swedish Allsvenskan leaders Mjällby AIF presents an outstanding opportunity.

The 20-year-old Gambian international has been in sensational form so far this season, scoring six goals and providing two assists in 15 appearances for the table-toppers.

Manneh's breakthrough campaign has seen him establish himself as one of the most exciting young talents in Scandinavian football. His impressive hat-trick against Degerfors in April demonstrated his finishing - while his direct running style would compliment West Brom's attacking approach.

The winger's ability to operate from the left flank while cutting inside on his preferred right foot would certainly appeal to Mason - who may need to look at new wingers should Mikey Johnston or Tom Fellows exit the Black Country.

These two wingers have both been subject to interest, most notably Johnston - who had a move to Brazilian giants Flamengo collapse after their club's president blocked the move due to injury concerns.

Fellows has reportedly attracting interest from Premier League duo Everton and Leeds United, after impressing for England U21s earlier this summer. Journalist Darren Witcoop reported that the Toffees were poised to launch a £10m bid for him in June.

Vetle Auklend - Viking FK

To address their reported need for cover at full-back, West Brom should target Vetle Auklend from Norwegian side Viking FK.

The 20-year-old left-back has shown promising development in the Eliteserien, scoring one goal in five appearances this season - and fits perfectly with West Brom's strategy of targeting Scandinavians.

With Campbell's signing likely to push Heggem back to left-back, Auklend would provide valuable competition and cover for his Nordic counterpart - even more so if out-of-favour Italian Gianluca Fabrotta leaves.

Viking are well-versed in dealing with English negotiations, after sanctioning the permanent moves of both Lars-Jorgen Salvesen and Sondre Langas to Derby County in the winter window last season.

Having already signed players from Norway, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, and Belgium in recent windows, these suggestive signings would represent the continuation of targeting players who offer both immediate impact and long-term development potential.
