West Brom sign Liverpool teenager Carter Pinnington on three-year deal | OneFootball

West Brom have signed teenage defender Carter Pinnington from Liverpool on a three-year deal, initially for the under-21s, according to ExpressAndStar.com.

The 19-year-old England youth international spent more than a decade in the Reds academy and is regarded as a prospect of real promise. Primarily a centre-back, he has also operated at full-back and in midfield.

He was named on the bench for a first-team tie against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup. Palace monitored his development, but Albion moved quickest to land him.

Pinnington said he is grateful for the opportunity, having considered offers from elsewhere. Early conversations convinced him Albion was the right next step, and he aims to work hard and give his all whenever he pulls on the shirt.

His arrival follows the capture of striker Barney Stewart, 22, who joined from Falkirk for £1.3million on Wednesday. Albion are also close to sealing a deal for Chelsea forward Jimmy-Jay Morgan.
