Carter Pinnington made an instant impact as he marked his senior debut with a win for loan club Solihull Moors. According to ExpressAndStar.com, the 19-year-old centre-back was thrown straight in on Tuesday and helped deliver a 4-2 victory at Woking.

The National League strugglers began the night off bottom only on goal difference, and the result gave them welcome breathing space from the foot of the table.

Pinnington slotted into a new-look defence alongside Chey Dunkley, the former Wolves and Shrewsbury Town defender who arrived on loan from Chesterfield only hours earlier.

Ex-Albion youth product Jamie Andrews struck twice, his first Solihull goals, against former club Woking to secure the points.

Wirral-born Pinnington joined West Bromwich Albion from Liverpool in the summer on a three-year deal, initially linking up with Leigh Downing’s under-21s after training with James Morrison’s squad in pre-season. He has since played five full 90s for the under-21s. His Solihull loan runs initially for three months to the new year.

Pinnington is among several Albion youngsters out on loan, joining Cole Deeming at Hartlepool, Alex Williams with Hibernian and Ollie Bostock at Boston United. Defender Jamal Mohammed has joined King’s Lynn Town and goalkeeper Brian Okonkwo has moved to Leamington.
