Max O’Leary collected his second Republic of Ireland cap as two West Brom players featured in a 5-0 friendly win over Grenada in Spain.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, Albion have offered a new contract to the 29-year-old goalkeeper. He and teammate Jayson Molumby both played 74 minutes.

The January signing from Bristol City kept a clean sheet, nearly a year after his debut cap. He recorded seven shutouts in 17 appearances, 16 in the Championship, as James Morrison’s side secured safety.

Despite Sunday’s outing, O’Leary has not been named in the next Ireland squad for friendlies on Thursday week, 28 May, against Qatar, and on 6 June against Canada. Molumby is in the 24-man group.

Molumby earned his 35th cap as Heimir Hallgrímsson’s youthful side struck five times after the interval. Debutant Jack Moylan hit a hat-trick and Tom Cannon added two.

It remains to be seen whether O’Leary agrees terms with Albion and whether Morrison’s staff view him as next season’s number one. Josh Griffiths remains on the books, while Joe Wildsmith will be released at the end of his deal this summer.
