Graham Potter hopes the full-back can return to training before the Hammers host the Eagles
Graham Potter has confirmed Aaron Wan-Bissaka will not be available for West Ham’s game at home to Crystal Palace.
Wan-Bissaka was absent from West Ham’s 3-0 defeat to Tottenham last weekend with a stomach issue, and Potter says that while he hopes the right-back can return to training on Friday, he won’t be fit to play against Palace.
“Aaron Wan-Bissaka will still be unavailable, he says there's a problem with his stomach. Hopefully, he'll be light training tomorrow or the weekend, but he won't be available for the weekend, for the game,” Potter said in his pre-match press conference.
Wan-Bissaka enjoyed an excellent debut season at West Ham, winning the club’s Player of the Year award.
He started the first two league games of the campaign, but was an unused substitute against Nottingham Forest before being left out of the squad against Tottenham.
Wan-Bissaka travelled with DR Congo on international duty and played against South Sudan and Senegal, his first two caps for the country after officially declaring for DR Congo in August.
Potter was, however, able to provide a positive update on the fitness of forwards Callum Wilson and Niclas Fullkrug, with the pair having trained all week in the lead up to Saturday’s game.
“Callum's had a full week's training, so it's good for him, so has Niclas Fullkrug, so we're pretty much as we were.”
Wilson and Fullkrug were both named on the bench against Tottenham, with Lucas Paqueta playing through the middle as West Ham slipped to their third defeat in four league games.
