West Ham United have completed the signing of Venezuelan midfielder Keiber Lamadrid (22) on loan from Deportivo La Guaira until the end of the season, with an option to make the move permanent in the summer, Sky Sports has reported.

The 22-year-old arrives in east London as one for the future, continuing the club’s recent strategy of identifying emerging talent from overseas markets. Lamadrid, who has been a regular at senior level in Venezuela’s top flight, will initially be given time to adapt to the demands of English football.

Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo stressed that the midfielder is not expected to make an immediate impact, explaining that Lamadrid is still in pre-season condition and will be carefully assessed in the coming weeks. Nuno added that the signing reflects a broader club approach of blending long-term planning with short-term needs, as West Ham look to rebalance their squad.

While Lamadrid’s arrival is unlikely to alter West Ham’s immediate plans, the option to buy included in the deal underlines the club’s belief in his potential. The coaching staff will monitor his progress closely during the second half of the campaign before a final decision is taken on his future.

For Lamadrid, the move represents a significant step in his career and an opportunity to acclimatise to the Premier League environment. For West Ham, it is a low-risk investment that could yet deliver long-term value.
