Mavropanos was forced off injured during the closing stages of Monday’s home defeat to Brentford, having been introduced as a half-time substitute.

It remains unclear how long the defender will be out for, with Nuno confirming on Wednesday that the club are waiting on scans to discover the true extent of the injury.

“Dinos is injured. He came off, and he now has a scan to see the injury he has. I don't know exactly how long he'll be out, but he'll be missing on Friday,” Nuno said in his pre-match press conference.

Fullkrug missed Nuno’s first home game in charge with a thigh injury sustained before the international break.

Nuno has previously confirmed that Fulkrug is targeting a return to action to face Newcastle at the start of November.

George Earthy, who was promoted to the first team this season, remains out with a hamstring injury.

West Ham are still winless under Nuno following a chastening defeat to Brentford on Monday night.

They travel to Leeds, placed 19th in the Premier League and three points from safety, on Friday evening.

Nuno admits he was frustrated by his side’s performance against Brentford, but said it was on his players to turn things around.

He continued: “We still have problems, and we didn't play well enough on Monday. We have to improve, and that has to come from the players, in terms of their own games, and then as a team, we have to get better too.

“I was frustrated on Monday, because I thought we started well. Then we weren't able to sustain that, so I was disappointed.

“There are many factors and reasons for that. Brentford adjusted well and gave us problems. And then we rushed and showed anxiety.”
