West Ham are showing keen interest in signing Galatasaray winger Kerem Akturkoglu, according to journalist Haldun Domac.

The Turkish journalist claims that the Hammers have joined a host of clubs to sign the exciting 21-year-old winger who has been in superb form this season. He suggests that Akturkoglu could be a potential replacement for Jarrod Bowen, who has been a long-term target for Liverpool.

There have been suggestions that the Reds could look to sign Bowen if Mohamed Salah leaves the club. Liverpool have not made any formal approach yet for the Hammers forward, and they are probably unlikely to do so even if Salah leaves.

“West Ham United clearly wants Kerem Akturkoglu. It is even said that Jarrod Bowen will go to Liverpool instead of Mohamed Salah and Kerem Akturkoglu will go to West Ham instead,” said Domac.

“Kerem has a contract until 2026. He also has suitors from Italy and Spain. We can clearly say that Kerem is developing very quickly.”

Unlikely

Bowen is happy at West Ham and he has just penned a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2030.

The England international aims to be a legend at the club, and it looks like the Hammers are not going to lose him unless they get a massive transfer offer, similar to what they received for Declan Rice.

Bowen has grown into a key player for the Hammers under David Moyes, and the club has done an incredible job in securing his long-term future.

But that does not mean the Hammers cannot sign Akturkoglu in the near future. The Turkish winger has scored four goals and provided four assists in all competitions for Gala, and David Moyes has every reason to keep a close eye on his progress.

He plays mainly as an attacking left winger, which means he cannot be a direct replacement for Bowen. In all probability, the journalist probably had suggested the transfer move before the Bowen deal was announced.
