According to The Athletic's Roshane Thomas, West Ham are in talks with Norwegian side Viking to sign Austbo for a fee in the region of £18 million, whilst the Hammers have also submitted a £12 million offer for Midtjylland's Gogorza.

Nuno Espírito Santo is looking to add more cutting edge and excitement to his side's attack before the deadline, having failed to win any of their opening three Championship games of the season.

West Ham are still looking for their first three points upon their return to the English second tier after 14 years, having picked up draws away to Burnley and Watford, whilst being defeated at home to Charlton Athletic.

It's a far from ideal start for Nuno's side, who will be hoping to turn their fortunes around sooner rather than later ahead of pushing for an immediate return to the Premier League.

Having crucially kept hold of Jarrod Bowen, in what will likely be the best piece of business they could have possibly done this summer, the Hammers are now looking to add two new forward options to the mix in the form of Austbo and Gogorza.

Austbo, 21, has made 78 first-team appearances for Viking across all competitions, scoring 18 and assisting 13, and recently helped the club qualify for the Champions League after beating Dinamo Zagreb over two legs. Best deployed off the left flank, the Norwegian youth international would offer competition to the likes of Manor Solomon and Keiber Lamadrid.

Gogorza, 19, was born in Norway to a Danish mother and a Basque father, and is eligible to represent either Norway, Denmark, or France,

Having progressed through the ranks of FC Midtjylland, the same club that has helped produce the likes of Alexander Sørloth, Ousmane Diomande, Artem Dovbyk, and Frank Onyeka, the winger has made 67 first-team appearances for the Danish outfit across all competitions, scoring nine and assisting 11, as he and Austbo could be on their way to the Championship in the coming days.

Despite the addition of Solomon from Tottenham Hotspur to replace the outgoing Crysencio Summerville, West Ham are keen to add another couple of exciting options out wide in the form of Austbo and Gogorza.

Whilst Bowen will more often than not have the right flank occupied, the England international lacks any real cover or competition, something the Scandinavian duo could remedy.

Solomon has Joshua Alaja pushing for a starting berth on the left flank, having impressed against Southampton in the League Cup, though whether he is ready to contribute heavily across a full Championship campaign remains to be seen.

Austbo and Gogorza are both far from the finished product, but at 21 and 19, respectively, there is ample time for both of them to grow and develop, as the Hammers look to provide them with the platform to do so in the English capital.

With news of West Ham being prepared to pay in excess of £30 million to sign both of Austbo and Gogorza surfacing online, Hammers supporters have taken to social media to react to the situation and share their thoughts and opinions.

Indeed, it took a while for things to pick up around the London Stadium, and with just days remaining until the deadline, the Hammers have sprung into action.

This West Ham fan remains dubious over the double signing of Austbo and Gogorza, instead highlighting the lack of options in the number ten role.

However, this West Ham fan appears more than happy with this deal, and has urged the club to get it done.
