West Ham have parted ways with manager Rehanne Skinner with immediate effect, after a run of disappointing results has left the Hammers in 11th place in the WSL.
Skinner joined West Ham in 2023 following her first stint in club football with Tottenham Hotspur, becoming the club’s first female manager since the launch of the Women’s Super League.
However, with just one win and eight defeats so far this season, the club have decided a managerial change is necessary as they aim to climb up the table.
Their statement reads: “Recent results have not matched expectations and the Board of Directors believe that a change is necessary to help improve the team’s position in the Barclays Women’s Super League as soon as possible.
“The Board would like to thank Rehanne for her hard work and commitment during her time with the Hammers and wish her every success for the future.
“The process of recruiting a new women’s team Head Coach is underway. The Club will make no further comment at this time.”
West Ham have a challenging run of fixtures to follow, including a Women’s League Cup quarter-final against Manchester City, before taking on reigning champions Chelsea at Kingsmeadow after the New Year in the WSL.
