West Ham ‘to target’ Ethan Nwaneri amid Paquetá uncertainty | OneFootball

West Ham have had a bid for Arsenal teenager Ethan Nwaneri rejected, according to The West Ham Way, and he could replace Paquetá if he leaves this window. Flamengo have not given up on signing Lucas Paquetá.

Nwaneri, 18, came through Arsenal’s academy and stepped up to the first team in July 2024. A midfielder by trade, he can also play as a centre-forward or winger.

He has made 12 appearances in 2025/26, scoring one goal.

Flamengo have submitted a €40 million offer, roughly R$250 million, for Paquetá. West Ham are asking for €60 million, about R$376 million.

The clubs are due to meet on Friday 16 to discuss the deal, with Flamengo hoping to make progress. They already have an agreement with Paquetá on contract terms, but still need to persuade West Ham to sell.
