André Silva signed for RB Leipzig in the summer of 2021 from Eintracht Frankfurt. He had a slow start at the club and failed to establish himself completely. Even in the ongoing season, he has been treated more as a backup striker.

Silva has featured for around 300 minutes across 15 appearances. He has a goal and three assists to his name in those many outings. He is averaging 0.8 dribbles, 0.3 key passes, and 0 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).
The Portuguese is a good reader of the game and positions himself accurately during attacking phases. He is a clinical finisher around the penalty box. He also has a great link-up playing ability and remains composed under pressure.
Life for Graham Potter at West Ham United is going to have its own challenges. With both Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug injured, he has only Danny Ings as the all-out striker. The latter has himself scored only five goals across three seasons.
Hence, the Hammers are in a hurry to sign a striker before the winter window closes. Reportedly, they recently enquired about the availability of André Silva. The club believe the 29-year-old could be a great addition to the unit.
Silva’s ample experience and qualities up front will surely help West Ham United for the rest for their season. It remains to be seen if he is up for sale or not. Apart from him, the hammers are also linked with multiple strikers, including Michy Batshuayi.
