WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Hammers just a short time ago.
The 26-year-old full-back joins West Ham United from Norwegian Toppserien club Vålerenga where she has spent the last six years. Tennebø has won two league titles with Vålerenga, along with two domestic cups. She has represented the club in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
On the international stage, Tennebø has been capped by Norway at various youth levels up to and including Under-23 level.
After joining West Ham United, Tennebø said “It feels amazing to be joining West Ham United. It’s a really special moment for me and my family as my grandfather, who sadly passed away in 2008, was a big West Ham fan. I wish he could be here to see this.
“My dream was to play in England – I can’t wait to play in the WSL. I have already played some of the teams in the Champions League, and I’m looking forward to the challenge of playing these kind of teams every weekend.
“I’ve won a lot in my career so far and I hope I can bring my winning mentality to the team. I will give everything for the Club and I’m so excited to get started.”
Tennebø is West Ham United’s fifth signing of the January transfer window.
