Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that Westerlo are in talks with Serie B side Cremonese about the loan signing of young goalkeeper Andreas Jungdal. The Belgian club want to bring the 22-year-old Danish goalkeeper to the Pro League initially on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. Westerlo are in need of a new goalkeeper with their first choice to start the season, Sinan Bolat, not having performed up to the level required.
Jungdal was part of the AC Milan academy and then senior set up until 2023. He never made a senior appearance for the side during that time, spending part of the 2022/2023 on loan in Austria at Altach. In the summer of 2023 he moved to Cremonese on a free transfer. During the 2023/2024 season he played 20 games in both Serie B and the Coppa Italia. He lost his place this season to 30-year-old Andrea Fulignati, who is currently on loan at the club from Catanzaro.
