The Millwall star played a Rabona cross during his side's 1-0 win over the Rams on Tuesday evening.

Millwall's push for an automatic promotion spot was strengthened on Tuesday evening as they defeated Derby County 1-0 at The Den, in what was an extremely tight affair in the latter stages in the south-east of the capital.

Josh Coburn's 43rd minute header was enough to win all three points, as he looped his effort over Josh Vickers and into the back of the net, closing the gap to second-place Middlesbrough to just a point.

However, Boro do play on Wednesday evening at home to Charlton Athletic, which means they could extend the gap back out.

The Rams came close to finding an equaliser on several occasions in the second-half, with Patrick Agyemang, Carlton Morris and Sammie Szmodics all firing wide. The former also hit the post in the dying moments, in what was the East Midlands outfit's best chance of beating Anthony Patterson in the Lions' goal.

Nonetheless, it was a vital victory for Millwall, but there was one moment in particular from Camiel Neghli that stole the headlines, and supporters have taken to social media to praise the Dutch-born Algeria international for a tremendous piece of skill.

Camiel Neghli delights Millwall supporters with impressive skill v Derby County

The 24-year-old has been on a really strong run of form in recent weeks for the Lions, and this has coincided with a four-match winning run for this season's surprise package. However, few perhaps expected him to bring out a Rabona cross in the second half as his side looked for a second goal.

While nothing came of the chance, Millwall supporters were spellbound by this piece of genius from a player who has stepped up in the last few games, with the club itself posting on X: "🪄Camiel Neghli appreciation post."

One fan replied to his club's post, writing: "There was an air of disbelief in the CBL after watching that. His take on the halfway line too….😮‍💨"

While another wrote: "It’s certainly going to be difficult selecting player of the season for the first time in years."

A third Millwall fan was quick to recall the last time he saw something similar from one of those in navy-and-white: "Scott Malone was the last Rabona I remember. Pretty sure it was against Blackburn (while 4-3 down) 😂"

"Couldn’t believe my eyes, not the Millwall I know 😂," a fourth supporter replied to the post, with the Lions looking to finish in the top six of the second tier for the first time since the 2001/02 campaign. In that season, they finished fourth but were beaten by Birmingham City in the play-off semi-finals.

Meanwhile, another wrote: "Never thought I’d ever see a Millwall player even attempt a Rabona cross, let alone pull it off. What a player."

Millwall are the form side in their last 12 Championship games

Neghli's form has been extremely strong recently, but his team in general have been excellent over the last few months, and no other side in the division has picked up more points than Millwall in their last 12 Championship matches.

Alex Neil's side have won nine times, losing only twice, while picking up a draw in their other game. Their record in this run has seen them close the gap to Middlesbrough by two points, while Ipswich Town and Coventry City have picked up 24 and 23 points each.

This is the best opportunity that Millwall have had at winning automatic promotion to the Premier League for well over two decades and they must not let it slip now.

They need the likes of Neghli to continue their form if this is to happen, and with fixtures against Middlesbrough and Ipswich coming up, it's crunch time for the Lions.
