England are on the verge of sealing their place at the 2026 World Cup ahead of their qualifier against Latvia on Tuesday night.
Thomas Tuchel has overseen a perfect start to his reign as England manager in competitive fixtures, with the Three Lions winning all five World Cup qualifiers in Group K. England have scored 13 goals across those fixtures and are yet to concede a goal.
England will qualify for the 2026 World Cup if they beat Latvia on Tuesday night. Albania’s 1-0 win over Serbia at the weekend means England can not be caught at the top of the group if they win in Latvia.
First place earns automatic entry to the World Cup, with the runners-up entering a play-off. A draw would not be enough for England to confirm qualification on Tuesday.
England complete their World Cup qualification campaign in November. Tuchel’s side take on Serbia at Wembley on November 13th, before concluding the campaign against second-placed Albania three days later.
