Andre Onana will be leaving Manchester United for good when he returns from his loan spell with Trabzonspor at the end of the season.
Indeed, the Red Devils have come to the conclusion that there is simply no benefit in keeping hold of the Cameroonian beyond this summer.
They are keen to cash in while his contract still has two years remaining, although they’ve likely conceded that they won’t get a fee anywhere near the £43.8 million they shelled out for him back in July 2023.

Fabrizio Romano weighed in on his situation on YouTube this week, telling United fans: “Who’s going to leave the club? For sure, in the summer, it’s going to be Andre Onana.
“Onana is on loan at Trabzonspor, and Man United’s decision is already quite clear: they’re not expected to continue with Onana next summer. The idea is to part ways and find a solution.”
When Onana joined the Turkish outfit in September, there was no buy option or obligation included in the terms, meaning Trabzonspor would have to open talks with United if they were looking to sign him permanently come June.
It remains to be seen where the 29-year-old will choose to ply his trade next, having represented Ajax and Inter Milan at senior level after starting out in Barcelona’s academy.

Last week, reports claimed that Onana’s representatives had met with Inter chiefs to discuss a possible return this year.
He spent one season in Milan and won the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana before reaching the Champions League final, where Inter fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat to Manchester City. Even though he finished as a runner-up, Onana was deemed one of the standout performers of the clash.
Romano is yet to hear of any definitive links between the ‘keeper and his former club, though. He said of the matter: “There were reports in England about a potential return to Inter. I’m not aware of that.
“His agents were in Milan, yes, but his agents are in a powerful agency that is working on several deals, and they were in Milan on separate topics, not for an Inter move [for Onana].
“But there will be several clubs interested in Onana. He’ll assess all his options, and what I can tell you today is that Onana is expected to leave Manchester United and try a different kind of experience in the 2026/27 season.”
