It has been reported by Pete O’Rourke that the midfielder has a number of second tier sides, including one recently relegated from the Premier League, eyeing a move this summer.

However, it has been claimed by Dominic Dietrich that the Rams have no interest in selling the 29-year-old given he has two years remaining on his current deal.

Adams made the switch to Pride Park last summer from Cardiff City, signing in a deal believed to be worth £500,000.

Here we use estimated figures from Capology to look at Adams’ current Derby salary amid speculation over his future…

Adams made the move from Cardiff to Derby following their promotion from League One to the Championship, having spent the second half of that previous campaign helping Paul Warne guiding the team to a second place finish.

His move was vindicated by the Bluebirds suffering relegation to the third tier last season, while John Eustace oversaw the Rams’ survival in the second division.

Adams agreed a three-year deal with his permanent move to Pride Park, which involved him receiving an estimated salary worth £7,885 per week.

The 29-year-old is paid above the average weekly salary at Derby, which currently amounts to £7,069.

The total wage bill at Pride Park is £141,385 going into the new campaign, which ranks as the 22nd best in the division, behind just Portsmouth and Charlton Athletic, with all three clubs recently competing in League One.

The highest wage bill in the Championship next season will be at Leicester City, with the Foxes paying roughly £1 million per week to their first team squad.

Fellow relegated from the Premier League sides Southampton and Ipswich Town are second and third, respectively.

The Saints pay £922,500 per week to Will Still’s squad, while the Suffolk outfit are paying their players £449,000-a-week.

Matt Clarke is currently Derby’s best paid player, with the defender earning £20,000 per week at Pride Park.

The 28-year-old made the switch to the Derbyshire outfit in the January transfer window last season, and he made 16 appearances in the Championship to help the club survive relegation straight back to League One.

Ben Osborn ranks second in Eustace’s squad, with the midfielder receiving £17,500 per week.

Kayden Jackson, Sondre Langas and Jacob Widell Zetterstrom complete the top five for Derby, with the trio earning £12,000, £10,000 and £8,500 per week, respectively.

Adams ranks seventh in the squad, behind Ryan Nyambe, who is paid £8,000 per week after joining the club after the start of the 2023/24 campaign.

Derby will likely be looking to bolster their squad before the window shuts, but the departure of Adams would be a real blow given his importance under Eustace.

However, if a strong enough offer arrives, then perhaps the Rams could be tempted into cashing in on the 29-year-old.
