Manchester United are chasing a deal to sign Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall this summer. 

Newcastle are left reeling after the shock departure of manager Eddie Howe. 

The Red Devils could take advantage of the Magpies’ internal turmoil by launching a move for Hall. 

The latest from the Daily Mail is that United remain appreciative of the 21-year-old but acknowledge a transfer would be difficult to pull off. 

Newcastle have already lost Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali to Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur respectively. 

Bruno Guimaraes is also on the verge of joining Arsenal who have reached an agreement over a transfer fee. 

The Tyneside club have no intention of losing Hall in the same transfer window. 

They are in a strong negotiating position, with the England international under contract until 2029. 

Man United have reinforced their midfield by signing Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos. 

Michael Carrick’s side still seek to add another midfielder, while a left-back is also a top priority for them. 

Tyrell Malacia has left on a free transfer and Patrick Dorgu is expected to continue in a more attacking role. 

Luke Shaw was impressive last season but the 31-year-old needs help to share the workload. 

United have been long-term admirers of Hall, who has been impressive with his performances in the Premier League. 

He has made 102 appearances across all competitions, with three goals and seven assists to his name.
