What Liam Rosenior pointed out to Cole Palmer about his “chances created” stat

With Enzo Fernandez out today, there is even more onus on Cole Palmer to get things done for Chelsea. He’s not had the best season, and has looked both physically and mentally to be in some difficulty at times.

Speaking ahead of this afternoon’s Man City game, Liam Rosenior revealed how he thought was the the best way to get his star man back to form.

“You give him confidence, you point out the things he’s doing well, you point out the things that are very, very positive in his game,” Rosenior said in quotes picked up by Sky Sports.

“”n terms of chance creation, I’ve gone through the stats: the chances he’s created in our difficult times was very, very high. We just didn’t take the chances that he created. I’ve showed him that. You can over-analyse at times but that’s not what I want Cole to do.

“Cole’s an intuitive player. He needs to be free to express himself to the best of his ability.

“How we have tried to manage Cole before this period is…there were question marks about why he was coming off, why he wasn’t starting games. We wanted him fresh for this period and so far he looks really, really good for that.”
