Leicester boss Marti Cifuentes has called for the fans to show more understanding after the team were criticised for their performance against Stoke.
Leicester City boss Marti Cifuentes has called for patience and understanding from the supporters after they once again showed their frustration against Stoke City on Saturday.
Ultimately, it was a positive afternoon for the Foxes, as they beat the Potters 2-1 thanks to a brilliant strike from Stephy Mavididi, before Patson Daka got his first Championship goal of the campaign, before Bae Jun-ho pulled one back for the visitors.
That wasn’t enough though, and Leicester made it back-to-back wins, which means they’re just one point away from the play-off places ahead of the midweek trip to Southampton.

Despite the victory, it’s fair to say that Leicester didn’t always convince against Stoke, with Mark Robins’ men having more shots, shots on target and it ended up with ten corners to zero in their favour.
The Potters also had more off the ball, and the way the game played out frustrated many Leicester fans, who have shown their anger towards the team, and the hierarchy, at different points in the campaign.
Yet, when speaking about that, Cifuentes explained that he wants more understanding from the terraces, as he insists it can’t be the ‘end of the world’ if they aren’t winning games every week.
As you would expect, that prompted plenty of responses from the supporters, as some made it clear that they have not been happy with the way the team have played under the Spaniard...
One fan believes this is simply down to the years of disappointment that Leicester fans have had to endure, which has impacted the mood around the ground on a matchday.
Meanwhile, this fan hit out at the manager for the way he had set the team up, as he backed the supporters to show their anger if they weren't happy with what they're watching.
Not everyone disagreed with Cifuentes though, as this fan called for patience to allow the ex-QPR boss to get the team to play the way he wants.
This fan also backed Cifuentes and felt he was making a valid point.
You can understand both sides to this debate, but the reality is that the Leicester fans are annoyed at the way the club has fallen over the past few years.

Of course, that's not on Cifuentes, but it means he won't be given much leeway, and there is an expectation for instant results. Some may think that's harsh, but Leicester have a very talented squad for this level, with a significant number of players having already proven themselves as winners in the Championship.
So, the patience that the boss wants isn't going to be there when the Foxes are not in the play-off places, and the only way Cifuentes can buy some time and goodwill is by winning games on a regular basis.
Even though they weren't at their best against Stoke, picking up three points when you don't play well is what all successful teams must do, and now it's about building on that when they travel to in-form Southampton.
