The Welshman saw his side win comfortably at Portman Road on Tuesday night.
Charlton Athletic jumped into the Championship play-off places with a 3-0 win against Ipswich Town at Portman Road on Tuesday night.
The Addicks have now only lost one of their last seven games, picking up 14 points during that run and putting themselves in an excellent position in the table as things stand at this stage of the season.
There is no doubt that Nathan Jones' impact has been pivotal to the Addicks' rise. The Welshman was appointed manager in February 2024 with the club sitting 19th in League One, but those days seemed like a distant memory as Charlton ran riot during the second half in Suffolk.
Midfielder Sonny Carey, who signed from Blackpool on a free transfer during the summer, opened the scoring in the second half with an excellent solo effort, before Macaulay Gillesphey doubled the visitors' lead two minutes later, reacting first to head past Christian Walton after Tanto Olaofe's initial flick was saved.
Miles Leaburn scored his first Championship goal to make things safe for the Addicks not long after the hour mark. The 21-year-old headed fellow substitute Tyreece Campbell's cross home from close range to send the vocal away support into a frenzy for the third time in 12 minutes.
Charlton have now kept clean sheets away against Bristol City, Sheffield United and Ipswich this season, and considering they have only lost three of their 35 home games since Jones was appointed last year, there is every reason to believe they can continue to be a force in the second tier during the remainder of the 2025/26 campaign.
Nathan Jones made it clear that he was delighted with Charlton's comprehensive victory at Portman Road, via an interview posted on the club's official X account.
"This is one of the toughest places to come, if not the toughest place in the Championship," Jones said.
"For us to do what we did shows we are in a good place.
"I felt we were well worth the win.
"You look at all the goals, they had elements of real quality about them, and to be honest with you, I thought we had two or three clear-cut chances first half.
"I felt we had the best chances of the game. The big chances were ours.
"You don't come to Ipswich and win 3-0 if you haven't defended very well.
"We had to defend our box wonderfully well, we had to put our bodies on the line, our keeper had to make a save.
"I just felt we were wonderful, the energy we played with.
"I'm proud of the football club."
Charlton supporters did not hold back their praise for Nathan Jones following their side's win at Ipswich, with a number of fans making their feelings known via X.
"I LOVE NATHAN JONES!!! Never felt like ive got my club back until this boss took charge! Thanks Nath!" - @Daniel599348967
"The f****** man. Lost count how many times I've said it build this man a statue outside the fans bar" - @cafcjoy69
"Turned our club around. What a great manager we have." - @JohnSta80713403
"Best manager since curbs Full Stop" - @rustos3911
The Addicks now find themselves on 18 points after 11 Championship games - the same tally they were on at the same stage the last time they were in this division during the 2019/20 season.
However, the squad that Jones has built is less reliant on loan players and has greater strength in depth, while the ownership situation is far more stable, so Charlton supporters should feel optimistic that they can build on their promising start rather than tail off and suffer relegation like they did six years ago.
