This Friday, Boca vs. Unión will be played for the eleventh matchday of the Torneo Clausura. The team from La Ribera will look for a crucial victory at La Bombonera to strengthen its place in the playoff qualification zone and open up a decisive gap over a direct rival in the battle to reach the round of 16.

The match against El Tatengue represents much more than three points on the horizon for the club from La Ribera. After collecting 17 points so far in the tournament, the blue and gold side sits near the top of the standings, but it needs a convincing win to bring calm ahead of the decisive stretch of the local competition.

Meanwhile, the Santa Fe side arrives at the Temple in ninth place with 13 points, currently the first team outside the knockout zone. A Boca victory would take the tally to 20 points, stretching the advantage over its pursuer to seven with only 15 points left to play for on the schedule.

This cushion would allow manager Rodolfo Arruabarrena to manage the squad with greater strategic flexibility and calm in the coming rounds. Although qualification would not be mathematically secured, the emotional and footballing boost would significantly strengthen the squad’s aspirations in the final stretch.
