Goodison Park has been used as Everton women’s stadium this season, but the ground has been utilised for a different purpose this week.
Everton women prevented Goodison Park from being demolished in the summer by moving into the men’s ground.
During the men’s international break this week, Goodison Park has been used as a training ground.
Northern Ireland national team has been training in the stadium as they prepare for World Cup Qualifiers.
The home nation will make the trip to Slovakia on Friday before their final qualifier against Luxembourg next week.
Qualification for the World Cup is still on the cards for Northern Ireland, but they will have to win their last two games to stand any chance.
Northern Ireland only trained briefly at Goodison Park and the ground will now be returned to Everton women.
The Toffees don’t play at home again until December, with three trips on the road coming up.
Up next this weekend is a great opportunity for Everton who are facing a West Ham side void of any hope in the WSL.
The Hammers are yet to win a game in the league this season but they are just four points behind this weekend’s opponents, making the clash an important one in the relegation battle.
Everton manager Brian Sorensen discussed his team’s position in the league ahead of the game, making it clear he is not satisfied with the season so far.
Ahead of the expansion of the WSL, just one team will be relegated this season for the final time. From next year and onwards there could be two teams facing the drop with an enticing playoff game set to be introduced.
The Toffees next play at home on December 13th, when they face Arsenal shortly after the international break.
