What was Kaizer Chiefs Chairman's message to Bafana Bafana before facing Egypt?
In a message of confidence and support, Kaizer Chiefs Chairman Dr. Kaizer Motaung has extended a special greeting to the Bafana Bafana national team ahead of their decisive clash against Egypt in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The crucial Group B match will be played on Friday at the Adrar Stadium, with the South African team entering the encounter following their hard-fought 2-1 victory over Angola in their opening match.
In his Christmas message addressed to Chiefs supporters and the wider national football community, Motaung expressed his steadfast belief that the distinctive South African resilience will be the decisive factor against the Pharaohs.
"We also send our best wishes to our senior national team, Bafana Bafana, who are currently representing Mzansi at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco," stated Motaung.
"We watched the opening match against Angola, and now we eagerly await the clash against Egypt on Family Day, December 26."
The Chiefs chairman added, drawing on his club's direct experience in regional confrontations: "As Kaizer Chiefs, we are well aware of the challenges of playing against teams from those nations, having recently faced Angola's Kabuscorp and Egypt's Zamalek and Al Masry. Yet, we believe in your strength and resilience as South Africans to prevail."
This message comes at a time when Bafana Bafana need every ounce of moral support before one of the most challenging stages of their continental campaign.
