With the World Cup taking place in Australia and New Zealand, plenty of fans around the world will be in bed when some of the games take place. Not to worry, we have you covered.

Japan produced the performance of the tournament so far with a five-star showing against Zambia.

It wasn’t pretty but the Lionesses mustered up an opening game win.

There was late drama in Perth as a 90th-minute Danish winner broke Chinese hearts.

So, do you have a Moment or Match of the Day?

Japan were seriously impressive but it doesn’t get much better than a last-minute winner, does it?

China had Denmark on the back-foot in the early parts of their Group D encounter, and it took a while for Lars Søndergaard’s side to get into the game.

With the persistence of Pernille Harder and Nicoline Sorensen the Danes eventually dominated the second half but it looked as if their efforts were going to go unrewarded.

Enter: Amalie Vangsgaard.

The forward was introduced from the bench in the 86th-minute and with one of her first and only touches headed in the winning goal from Harder’s corner.

Talk about making an impact.

Sophia Smith made USA history with her brace during the win over Vietnam, becoming the youngest player to score multiple goal on their World Cup debut.

The Portland Thorns striker was predicted to have a good tournament before a ball was kicked and she has sent out a statement within her first 90 minutes.

Watch this space.

Come on, show us a picture perfect moment:

They were literally queuing up to score for Japan against Zambia.

Anything else I should know?

There was a weird quirk about the Denmark-China encounter, it was the first match of the tournament that didn’t have a penalty awarded in the game.

There are three more games to look forward to tomorrow with Sweden and France getting their campaigns started.
