Christmas in women’s football

We asked folk in women’s football all over the world what they’re hoping for under the Christmas tree this year…and this is what they said!

OneFootball Videos

Amber Hughes, Wolverhampton Wanderers: Some new trainers! Haha, no, for me it’s not about the presents – I just love this time of the year being around family and friends, particularly my two little nieces and enjoying the magic with them!

Amy Jenkins, Aberystwyth Town captain: Pulsio Compression Boots so that I can feel my legs the day after a game.

Amy Rodgers, Nottingham Forest and Scotland: A robot vacuum cleaner (this is how I know I’m getting old!).

Bow Jackson, Exeter City captain: An all-expenses-paid trip to Costa Rica!

Ellen Maggs, formerly of Arsenal and England: Some sort of weather controller to make all of the pitches playable throughout January and February!

Emma Thomson, North Carolina Courage assistant coach: A new coffee machine that can do all the fancy things – and save me time and money on buying coffee. I might need a bigger tree to fit it under!?

Gemma Fraser, Leafield Athletic: A kitten – hope you’re reading this, wifey!

Helen Ward, former Wales international and current Watford general manager: I would like to find probably some sort of footwear, because I’m obsessed with it – trainers, or some Uggs, given that it’s chilly.

Hana Lowry, Australia international: Some new AirPods.

Lee Burch, Rugby Borough head coach: A fully fit happy and healthy squad and staff. (Big tree!) And a Dove box set – essential for the gym.

Lucie Gwilt, Llanfair United player-manager: Llanfair United FC stash – it’s my second season with this wonderful club, but I’ve yet to invest in a training pack so it’s gone on the top of my list for this Christmas.

Natasha Dowie, former England international and now broadcaster and Liverpool ambassador: Happiness and health – and maybe a cheeky Terry’s Chocolate Orange.

Shauna Chambers, Aberystwyth Town: Ideally lifetime supply of deep heat to keep the calves going.
