Tottenham are closing in on Savinho as their next summer signing, and fans could see him make his debut sooner rather than later.

Spurs have been long-time admirers of the Brazilian, having tried and failed to sign the winger last summer.

But, 12 months on, a deal looks finally set to be completed amid reports that a fee worth an initial £75million, rising to a possible £85m with add-ons, has been agreed with Manchester City.

When could Savinho make his Tottenham debut?

The new Premier League season starts on Friday night, which means there is a deadline to get Savinho registered as a Spurs player before their opening game at Brentford.

If a fee has been agreed with Man City, as reports suggested late on Thursday night, Savinho will undergo a medical and finalise his move on Friday.

If Spurs want Savinho in the squad to face Brentford on Saturday evening, the Brazilian must be registered by 12pm on Friday.

It is the cut-off point for new players to be registered ahead of the weekend.

If missed, Savinho could make his debut against Charlton in the Carabao Cup next Wednesday, or against Newcastle in the Premier League next weekend.

There are few concerns at Spurs over Savinho’s fitness with Man City having featured the winger prominently during their pre-season.
