Premier League clubs will be free to strengthen their squads again in the 2026 January transfer window.
The mid-season window allows clubs to sign and sell players, a period to boost their options or address areas of weakness. Here are all the details for the 2026 January transfer window.
The winter transfer window for Premier League clubs opens on Thursday 1st January 2026. Clubs will have until Monday February 2nd to conclude transfer deals, with the deadline set for 7pm UK time on this date.
The Bundesliga (Germany) and Ligue 1 (France) also begin their mid-season transfer business on January 1st. However, clubs in Serie A (Italy) and La Liga (Spain) will need to wait until the following day (January 2nd) to begin transfer deals.
England, Italy Germany and France all have a transfer deadline of 7pm UK time on February 2nd. The window for Spanish sides will shut four hours later, at 11pm GMT.
The WSL winter window will run a day later than the Premier League. Clubs can sign new players from Friday 2nd January 2026, up until the deadline on Tuesday 3rd February 2026.
With an upcoming Asian Cup set to take players from South Korea, Japan, China and Australia in March, several WSL sides could invest to cover the loss of those representatives.
