Nathaniel Brown on ...

… joining Eintracht: “The talks went really well. The management made it clear they wanted me and that I was in their plans. Everything else is up to me now – I need to do well in training. From the first second, I felt the family environment here and I’m feeling very settled. When Frankfurt come calling, you don’t think twice. I really wanted [to join].”

… his first few weeks in Frankfurt: “[They’ve been] very nice, but hard work too. You’re under a lot of physical and mental strain. After all, there is a difference between the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2. You have to be even quicker in your head, but you obviously feel it in your legs too – I’ve been feeling it in the evenings. That’s the way it should be in pre-season. I’m really looking forward to the training camp and getting to know the team even better.”

… his role: “At Nürnberg, I played left-back in a back four. I haven’t played in a back three yet, but generally speaking it doesn’t matter – left wing would be fine too. There’s a lot of competition, but I know my strengths. I want to show what I can do and assert myself. I know what I’m capable of, but I also know what I can’t do yet. That’s why I’m working hard in training.”

… his objectives: “I want to show what I can do in every training session and make the most of my opportunity. I’m fully focused on [the task] here. I want to win as many games as possible with Eintracht. We want to play attractive football and excite the fans.”

… his new team-mates: “It’s a nice feeling when Mario Götze, who scored the winning goal in the World Cup [final] ten years ago, is suddenly there in the dressing room. We watched that game on TV. My mum is probably even more excited than I am [laughs]. I can learn so much from every player, including in my position. Philipp Max and Niels Nkounkou are older and more experienced than me, so I’ll copy a lot from them.”

… his strengths and weaknesses: “My pace sets me apart. I want to go forward and play with an attacking mindset. I still need to improve my heading and defensive duels.”
