Premier League champions set to face off against FA Cup winners in Cardiff
The new Premier League season is fast approaching, and with it this year’s Community Shield.
Top-flight football has this season been pushed back by a week due to the extended 2026 World Cup, with all players competing allowed three weeks off between seasons.
That means that the Community Shield, the traditional curtain-raiser to the Premier League campaign, is also being played at a new date - and at a new venue.
It is the first time the fixture will be played outside England for 20 years.
Premier League champions Arsenal will host FA Cup winners Manchester City across the Welsh border, but when?

Arsenal vs Manchester City is scheduled for Sunday, August 16, 2026.
The game will kick off at 3pm BST.
Arsenal are gearing up for their 25th appearance in the Community Shield, formerly known as the Charity Shield. They have won it 17 times.
Man City are set for their 17th appearance, having won it on seven previous occasions.
The last time Arsenal appeared in the curtain-raiser as English top-flight champions, the Community Shield was also played in Wales. The Millennium Stadium hosted for six years, between 2001 and 2006, and Arsenal beat Manchester United 3-1 in 2004.
