It’s been reported that a major shake up behind the scenes at Celtic Park is on the horizon, with Martin O’Neill being centre-stage in negotiations for implementing any proposed changes that would put the club back on track to continue our dominance of Scottish football after a season where standards have fallen dramatically.

Martin on Friday afternoon spoke in great detail of his desire for change at the club, revealing that he will discuss things with Dermot Desmond and Michael Nicolson at some stage, and the way he spoke with great enthusiasm suggests he feels confident in getting his points across to those responsible for the decay that’s set in at the club. The rot at Celtic has started at the top and that’s where change has to happen first and foremost.

Martin O’Neill is bang on the money

The legendary Celtic figure explained his plans in full, and as usual his words were bang on the money. The Irishman rightly believes that there should be major changes on the recruitment process, with a committee responsible for identifying and signing new players, as long as the manager of the club has the final say on who puts pen to paper.

Celtic is broken, Martin O’Neill aims to fix it

Martin spoke passionately about the need for unity at the club, and yet again correctly stated that this disastrous campaign was an eye opener for everyone connected to Celtic, namely those who are responsible for running the show. Are they still claiming to be world class in everything they do?

O’Neill even revealed that he would be willing to act as an official adviser, a link between the club and boardroom for any new incoming manager.

Celtic Board won’t listen to the supporters but must listen to Martin O’Neill

The club, if they have any interests of improving, will listen to the ultra experienced figure currently saving their bacon for the second time this season. Martin knows the game inside out, and has been in this business long enough to know what it takes to run a successful football club. And what he’s seen at Celtic this season is clearly nowhere near what he would have expected for a football club with a reputation for being a well oiled trophy winning machine.

As Martin said, it was only his opinion, but it’s an opinion those running our club should listen to very carefully if they want the club to improve and more importantly, continue to be successful. Take note Dermot Desmond.
