Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney has been out of action for the entire season so far due to injury, after suffering a significant hamstring setback during Euro 2024.
Despite returning to the grass in early September, Tierney still hasn’t rejoined full training as the November international break gets underway.
Mikel Arteta confirmed in late October that the player had gone through a period where he was still struggling with that hamstring injury, but he’s closing in on a return now.

“I think he’s quite close,” Arteta said on October 29th. “He’s looking really good. I think he’s over the period where he was still struggling, so he looks really sharp out there.
“He hasn’t trained with the team yet but hopefully he can do that in the next week or two.”
15 days on from those comments, the expectation is that Tierney should be fit to return to full training any day now. But given his September setback, we shouldn’t take anything for granted.

Scottish outlet Daily Record have suggested that the next month or two may represent somewhat of an audition for Tierney, amid links with a January transfer.
Charles Watts recently reported that Arsenal had planned to sell or loan Tierney in the summer, and they likely would have if not for his injury.
Even once he’s fit, the expectation is that Tierney won’t be central to Mikel Arteta’s plans. With Celtic reportedly interested in offering him a route back to his home country, that could be one to watch once he’s playing again.
