Liverpool are celebrating Christmas top of the tree with Arne Slot’s side leading the Premier League title race.

The Dutchman has overseen a superb start to his reign since replacing Jurgen Klopp in the summer. Liverpool have lost just once in all competitions this season and boast a four-point advantage in the title race – having played a game less than the chasing pack.

It’s the position every team wants to be in, but will the Reds go on to win the Premier League from here?

Only half the teams to have topped the table on December 25th have been crowned champions, while Liverpool have ended the season as Premier League title winners just once despite spending the festivities at the summit on six occasions.

The lowest any team has finished after leading the table at Christmas is sixth, when Aston Villa plummeted out of the European places entirely. Such was their drop-off, The Villans ended the campaign 24 points behind champions Manchester United.
