The transfer market is well and truly open, and we’ve already seen some big names leaving clubs. From Dani Carvajal hanging up his boots and retiring from Madrid, to a landmark move from Jose Morinioho, ‘the chosen one’, returning to The Bernabeu for the first time since his iconic

2010–2013, and Alexia Putellas and Lewandowski leaving Barcelona, there’s just so much going on.

Now, attention is turning to Liverpool and which wingers they should sign over the summer after the exit of Mo Salah. Rumours are putting names like Bradley Barcola and Jadon Sancho into the mix, so let’s see who they’re likely to sign.

The Main Rumoured Winger Transfer Targets For Liverpool

Liverpool needs a Mo Salah replacement, and realistically, they still need a Diaz replacement even though he left in July 2025. The current links for signings are:

Bradley Barcola

This would be an elite signing. He’s the best fit if Liverpool wants a Champions League-level wide forward.

Barcola is exactly the kind of winger Liverpool should look for. He’s quick, direct, technically clean, and comfortable attacking from wide areas. His goal contribution rate means sports betting Zambia based platforms always had good odds for him to add more in most games.  The issue is that he is a complicated deal. Recent reports say Barcelona, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been linked, and PSG still hold a strong contractual position because Barcola’s deal runs until 2028.

Some reports say Arsenal are now ahead in the race, and Liverpool could pull back on their interest if they prioritise a right winger instead.

Jadon Sancho

Sancho is a bit of a new rumour, and we’re not sure if anything will come of it. He’s rebuilt his career after he sort of dropped off after an incredible stint at Dortmund, which saw him pegged as a future Ballon d’Or winner. After a £73 million move to Manchester United in 2021, he didn’t really make an impact and had massive clashes with then-manager Ten Hag.

But, after a loan to Aston Villa, he had more playing time and seemed to be a lot happier.

He becomes a free agent this summer, and some people are questioning whether Liverpool should renew their interest in him and give Sancho a fresh start in the Premier League.

Michael Olise

Olise would be the dream target and undoubtedly has the best player profile, but it’s unlikely that anything will come of this.

He’s left-footed; his playing style is incredibly dangerous because he can play from the left or right, but This Is Anfield reports Bayern are relaxed about his future and that there is no release clause, making a deal extremely difficult.

Football365 even called the Olise-to-Liverpool rumour “ridiculous”, but people can dream.

Liverpool’s Winger Issue

Mohamed Salah leaving Liverpool was a massive blow, and Luis Díaz has already moved to Bayern Munich. The wide output that once powered Liverpool’s attack has gone. Liverpool are pretty much desperate for a Salah successor and a left-sided refresh, but the club can’t afford to waste paying superstar prices for players who don’t perfectly fit the role, which is why Jadon Sancho might be an excellent option.

Currently, their players on the wing include:

  • Florian Wirtz: Left or right wing. Can also play attacking mid.
  • Cody Gakpo: Left wing or can be centre forward.
  • Rio Ngumoha: Left or right wing. Can also be left midfield.
  • Federico Chiesa: Left or right wing. Can also be a striker.

Florian Wirtz is one of the best attackers in the game, and Federico Chiesa is also incredible, but on the transfer market.

We’ll soon know what winger Liverpool will buy. It’s their target position to fill before the new season, so it’s only a question of who they’ll sign. There aren’t many huge superstar names in the mix, so it’ll be interesting to see who they sign to fill the massive boots of Salah and Diaz.
